Parent Council - Concluding Meeting

The concluding meeting and Get-Together of the Parent Council Members and Office Bearers was organised on 22^nd February 2020 at Thalasseri Restaurant, Nakheel. The Parent Council Chairperson, Mr. Sumod Mathew welcomed the gathering. He thanked the IPHS Team and the Council members for the support and efforts taken in the smooth and successful functioning of Parent Council. The points of discussion included were:

1) More members to be added and encourage the active participation in the various activities.

2) Fund to be raised with more sponsors in the initial stage

3) Parents Badminton Tournament

The get-together concluded with a Formal Meeting followed by dinner.

Lastly, The Principal Mrs. Anubha Nijhawan thanked each member personally for their guidance, suggestions and cooperation. The meeting adjourned at 9 PM.

Lending a Helping Hand- INITIATIVE BY PARENT COUNCIL

A charity campaign was started in IPHS from 5^th December 2019 to Tuesday, 10^th December 2019. The main purpose of the campaign was to collect clothes and toys for the needy. Separate cartons were kept in the school premises for men’s clothing, women’s clothing, kid’s clothing and toys. The response of parents was very good. On the final day of the campaign a few members of the parent council volunteered to sort, neatly arrange and pack the cartons. There were total 6 cartons of clothes and toys. The cartons were collected from the school by the members of the Human Appeal International, RAK on 21^st January 2020. This campaign was a great success and it helped the children to learn about charity and the importance of reaching out to others in time of their need.

Badminton Tournament Organized by the Parent Council

The Parent Council, IPHS, had organized a Badminton Tournament for parents in the RAK Academy BSK. There were three categories for the tournament – Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Women’s Singles. The response from the parents was really appreciative. Few members from the Parent Council had volunteered to support in the successful completion of the tournament. The preliminary and finals of the tournament were conducted on 15th December, 2019. The parents participated enthusiastically and displayed their sportsmanship. The winners will be honoured with Prizes and Certificate of Merit on Friday, December 13th during the Annual Day Programme.

Parent Council Formation 2019-20

The first council meeting was held on Saturday, 25^th May, 2019 at 6:00 p.m in the school library. The agenda was to select the Chairperson and Secretary, to felicitate the former Chairperson Mrs. Veena Santhosh and to brief on the activities held in the month of April and May. The council unanimously selected Mr. Sumod Mathew as the Chairperson and Mrs. Akshata .K. Chandragiri as the Secretary. Vice Principal, Mrs. Annamma Mathew welcomed all the members, requested them to contribute their expertise and to support in the activities; and also to involve more parents for school activities as they are representatives of the parent community. Vice Principal also highlighted the achievements and the results of Grade X and XII for the academic year 2018-19.
