The Parent Council, IPHS, had organized a Badminton Tournament for parents in the school playground. IPHS Principal Mrs. Anubha Nijhawan inaugurated the tournament. There were three categories for the tournament – Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Women’s Singles. The Physical Education teachers of IPHS were in charge of the registration and preparing badminton court for the tournament. The response from the parents was really appreciative.
The preliminary rounds started from 6th November, 2017 in the evening in the school premises. Few members from the Parent Council had volunteered to support in the successful completion of the tournament. The finals of the tournament were conducted on 18th November, 2017. The parents participated enthusiastically and displayed their sportsmanship. The winners will be honoured with Prizes and Certificate of Merit on Friday, December 8th during the Annual Day Programme.
The year "2017", being the "Year of Giving, a Charity Campaign was organized at IPHS from October 9th to October 18th2017. Separate cartons were kept inside the campus for collecting basic necessities pertaining to men, women and children. Both parents and students fully supported the campaign. On the last day of this event, volunteers of Parent Council arranged, sorted and packed the cartons neatly. There were total 16 cartons of clothes, 4 cartons of foot wears and 2 cartons of toys.
The members of the "Human Appeal International", Ras Al Khaimah, collected the cartons from the school. This campaign was a great success and it helped the children to learn about charity and the importance of reaching out to others in time of their need.
The Parent Council organized an Iftar Party on 9th June 2017 at Tammam Party Hall. 15 parents with their family attended the party. IPHS Vice Principal Dr. Annamma Mathew, Middle Section Supervisor Mrs Soumya Shree , Primary Section Supervisor Mrs. Shammy Santosh , attended the party. A total of 70 members was present to make it a grand and memorable evening.
The first council meeting was held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m in the school library. The agenda was to select the Chairperson and Secretary, to felicitate the former Chairperson Mrs. Veena Santhosh and to brief on the activities held in the month of April and May. The council unanimously selected are Mrs. Veena Santhosh as the Chairperson once again and Mrs. Aisha Hussain as the Secretary. Principal, Mrs. Anubha Nijhawan welcomed all the members, requested them to contribute their expertise and to support in the activities; and also to involve more parents for school activities as they are representatives of the parent community. Dr. Annamma Mathew, Vice Principal felicitated the former Chairperson, Mrs. Veena Santosh with a bouquet and a gift and gave a report on the NASA Trip. Display of the cards and the albums prepared by our students for the World Book Day and Mother’s Day was appreciated by the members. Two members were part of the judging panel.
